Regardless of credit status a pre paid Mastercard/Visa is available as a form of payment.
The number of debit card payments is forecast to grow from 6.4 billion to 12.8 billion payments between 2010 and 2020, and spending to increase from £292 billion to £616 billion over the same period.
In the UK there were 44.9 million debit card holders, accounting for 89% of the adult population in 2010.
In 2010 there were 165.3 million cards in issue – 55.6 million credit cards, 6.6 million charge cards, 84.3 million debit cards.

Can a merchant account be used for telephone/website sales ?
Card/Customer Not Present (CNP) can be added on request to merchant accounts enabling transactions that are not chip & pin authorised (the card isn’t physically to hand during the sale).
How long does the application and set-up process take ?

Turn-around on applications can be very quick but this ultimately depends on when the required paperwork is returned to us completed with the necessary supporting documentation.
